Graduation dinner in Sydney
Looking for a restaurant to celebrate the milestone? Pyrmont, Belmore and Walsh Bay all take the family table for a graduation dinner, and graduation weekends book out early.
3 venues suit this
Things to ask for when you book
None of it happens unless somebody mentions it, so put it in the notes field of the reservation.
- A quieter part of the room
- Cake service, with cakeage
- A set menu for the table
- An early or a late sitting
- A glass of something on arrival
- A note on where you would like to sit
- Dietaries built into the menu
Where the line sits
Up to ten guests. Make a booking, come in and order a la carte. Nothing else to arrange.
Ten and over. Use the group booking form. Our reservations team will contact you to discuss the set menu, and in some circumstances a la carte can be arranged for a service charge at their discretion.
A space to yourselves. That is a function rather than a booking. Eight private spaces across the group, for up to 500 guests.
For the table, if you would rather not order
- Two course group menu
- Three course group menu
- Shared menu
- Children’s menu, under 12s
What you can order
A la carte, with set menus for groups of ten and over. That is the picture on an ordinary night, and most of the year is ordinary nights.
It changes if your date lands on a public holiday or an occasion date. On those the weekly specials stop, a venue may switch to a set menu, add a package or an upgrade, and it can be closed to the public for one event. See which dates those are.
Calling is the reliable way to find out. Ring us on 1300 353 636 and we will tell you what a venue is running on your date, or check its own site.
Frequently asked
How far ahead should I book?
A week for a weeknight, two to three weeks for a Friday or Saturday, and longer at Walsh Bay in good weather. Occasion tables at the window go first.
Is there a charge for cake service?
Yes. Cakeage is $4 per person for a group of up to 15, or $60 per cake for 16 and over. Cake service with plates, cutlery and candles is included at every venue.
Can we get a set menu for a small table?
Yes, from four guests up. Under ten it is optional. Over ten our reservations team will contact you to discuss it, and in some circumstances a la carte can be arranged for a service charge at their discretion. A set menu usually works out better value than ordering a la carte.
What if there are more than ten of us?
Use the group booking form rather than a table booking. A coordinator confirms the table, the set menu and the timing, and you are not squeezed onto two tables at opposite ends of the room.
